I learned something incredibly useful regarding my camera and lighting. I have always had a hard time with my camera’s lighting because the flash was too harsh. Whatever good photo I come up with usually has good natural lighting. As long as there was flash, my photos looked horrible. This is why I always had a hard time taking photographs in areas of dark and unflattering kinds of light.
The first photo was taken with a flash. The result was that the subject’s skin looked powdery almost as if baby powder was dabbed all over him
The second photo on the other hand looks more natural. Infact, it is his natural color!
My trick? Using a “light diffuser.” I got a sheet of tissue paper and folded in just right amount of thickness (placed it directly ontop of the flashbulb) to diffuse the light. I made my version based on what I learned in the lightning session. Now, I can take photos in the night! :)
